Falter Fans,
Hello, all! Hope this reaches you all staying cool and enjoying a safe and joyful Summer!
This month marks the 200th Anniversary of The Saturday Evening Post, which John P. Falter contributed to from 1943 to 1971. All told, Falter’s illustrations graced the cover of the Post 129 times. The first issue of the Post was published in Philadelphia on August 18, 1821.
In honor of the publication’s 200th birthday, we are offering our loyal Falter fans an opportunity to adopt an original piece of Falter’s work and, in turn, be recognized as museum donors. Those who do so will receive a donor plaque and will have their adopted originals occasionally displayed in the Falter Museum. The framed pieces will be accompanied with an adoption plaque. Donations to the museum are used to purchase Falter illustrations such as these.
The Falter originals available for adoption, along with dimensions, a brief description and prices, are displayed below. For more information regarding adopting an original, please reach out to our Museum Curator, Dobey Falter Haws, at curator@johnphilipfaltermuseum.com.
One announcement we’d like to mention is, with the exception of Cobblestone Weekend (August 12-15), the museum hours will remain the same through Labor Day weekend, which will be the final weekend of the season we will be open for our posted business hours. Those hours are Thursdays and Fridays from 1 pm to 4 pm, and Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm, through Labor Day.
Lastly, we would like to use this opportunity to recognize our year-to-date donors, along with their gracious contributions. Thank you to all those fine folks who have generously supported Falter’s work, the museum and the arts.
