“Learning to Fly” by John Philip Falter, published on the cover of the Saturday Evening Post, June 20, 1953.

Falter Fans,

Hello, friends, we hope this finds you all doing well!

With today being the First Day of Spring, we just wanted to reach out to wish you all well as we inch closer to warmer days ahead.

Please keep your eyes peeled for updates as we move closer to Summer and a reopening of our beloved museum in Falls City, Nebraska. We will update you again next month with with our Summer hours, but if you are interested in stopping in to visit the museum before then, we can arrange a date and time to accommodate you. Please contact our Curator, Dobey Falter Haws, to set an appointment. She can be reached via email, curator@johnphilipfaltermuseum.com, or by telephone, 402-450-3724.

One notable announcement…

The Nebraska State Historical Society Foundation announced recently that it awarded more than $400,000 in calendar year 2021 to support programs and exhibits at History Nebraska, to support operations at the Gerald R. Ford Conservation Center, and provided funding for professional development, historical marker repairs and new marker replacements. John Philip Falter’s work was the beneficiary of some of these funds, as The Johnson Endowment Fund awarded $3,485 for the conservation and treatment of two of his paintings.

The Nebraska State Historical Society Foundation raises money in support of the cause of history, including projects of History Nebraska, the state agency formerly known as the Nebraska State Historical Society. The Foundation solicits funds and support from individuals and organizations across the state and beyond, who value Nebraska’s unique heritage and who wish to play a personal role in ensuring that Nebraska’s history will be accessible to future generations.

We would like to send a huge thank you to Executive Director Leslie Fattig and everyone at the NSHSF for their tremendous work. We are grateful and appreciative for all of it!

From all of us at the John Philip Falter Museum, thanks again for all of your support!

Cheers!
