Falter Fans,
Hello! We hope you all had a wonderful and safe 4th of July! As we enter the month of July we wanted to update you on a few recent visitors to the museum and thank those who have graciously donated.
Our many visitors since Memorial Weekend included care centers from Falls City and Sabetha, KS. (Photo)
Did you know the Falls City Rotary Club meets at the museum bimonthly?
Two special visitors in June were John P. Falter’s son, Jay, and his wife, Dana, from Philadelphia. It was their first museum visit.
Once again, we thank our loyal and generous donors, who are the main reason our front door stays open. Their support goes toward the rent and other bills and allows us to purchase items in our gift shop A huge thank you to:
Fred and Bev Otto
Jannie McNeely
Sharon and Norm Horn
Ron and Nancy Kelley
Because of our dedicated docents, the door is open 1:00-4:00 Thursdays-Sundays until Labor Day. Sincere thanks to Brenda, Cindy, Denise, Gail, Glenda and Liz. They do a wonderful job of sharing the museum's information and are the most flexible volunteers ever!
We also received a grant from the Nebraska State Historical Society Foundation, which will fund a workshop led by noted cartoonist, Paul Fell. Sixteen participants will enjoy two days of cartooning at the museum on July 17 and 18.
A special Falter exhibit will be held at the Stalder Gallery inside the Falls City Library and Arts Center the month of August. More details coming.....
On June 28, Dobey presented an hour-long course on John and the museum to a University of Nebraska Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) class. Twenty participants were on site, while many more were viewing on Zoom. The NET video was shown and was greatly received. She has been asked to repeat the course this winter.
Have a great month of July and hope to see some of you at the John Philip Falter Museum!
Cheers!
